Bed linens are very important to hotels. Providing customers with clean and healthy bedding can make customers feel at ease.
1) Precautions for washing new linens
1. Wash new linens with clean water before using them for the first time. Keep the temperature below 45°C.
2. When washing pure white and colored linens, keep the washing temperature below 37°C.
3. It is normal for new linens to have slight lint when washing them for the first time. After multiple washings, the lint will fall off automatically.
4. In order to prevent the whiteness of the linens from being affected, all new linens cannot be washed together with old linens.
II) Daily washing precautions for linens
1. Remove the decorative items of hotel linens before washing, and choose a washing temperature of ≤40℃;
2. Soak the hotel linens in water for a few minutes before washing, but not too long to prevent the color of the hotel linens from being damaged; note that pure cotton hotel linens with sweat stains are forbidden to be soaked in hot water to prevent yellow spots on the linens;
3. After rinsing, you don’t need to use a lot of water when you are not rinsing, but you need to wash it several times, and you need to wring it dry each time you rinse, which will improve the washing quality of the hotel linens;
4. No matter what kind of fabric the hotel linens are, they cannot be exposed to the sun to avoid damaging the dyeing and fabrics. They should be dried on the reverse side in a ventilated and cool place;
5. When ironing, the higher the temperature, the better. Pay attention to the material of the hotel linens to adjust the ironing temperature according to the performance. Generally, the ironing temperature is below 110℃.
6. Mixed washing is prohibited: bleached linens are prohibited from being mixed with colored fabrics for washing, which can easily cause dyeing of bleached linens.
7. Washing temperature: Use soft water below 50ppm, washing temperature not higher than 60℃, it is recommended to use liquid chemicals.
8. Avoid contact with chemicals: Use oxygen bleach and detergent together. If chlorine bleach is used, soak the linens before use to avoid contact with strong acid, alkali and corrosive chemicals.
9. Treatment method for stubborn stains: Soak stubborn stains in 40℃ warm water with corresponding detergent for 1-2 hours. Chlorine bleach is prohibited for colored linens.
10. Classification washing: Wash new/old, cotton/polyester-cotton linens and towels separately.
3) Collection of linens
1. If linens need to be stored for a long time, the laundry factory must be notified.
2. Water the linens thoroughly to avoid chemical residues.
3. Iron and dry to 100% dry (the dryness of linens in normal use is about 80%) to prevent yellowing and mold from long-term storage.
4. Sort the new and old hotel linens well. The natural damage and abnormal damage of old hotel linens should be treated differently. The dehydration time of new and old hotel linens should also be different due to different strengths;
5. Avoid direct contact of cotton fabrics with strong acidic or corrosive chemicals;
6. Be careful during the transportation of guest room linens to prevent secondary contamination and accidental tearing.
